Commission I Will Lobby the State Budget to Complete the Construction of the Library Building
Banda Aceh - Commission I of the Banda Aceh City People's Representative Council (DPRK) made a working visit to the Banda Aceh Library and Archives Service in Gampong Keudah, Wednesday (14/9/2020).
Their arrival was greeted by the Head of the Banda Aceh Library and Archives Office, Alimsyah Ayub, and his staff.
Head of Commission I, Ramza Harli, said that the working visit was to review the development of the literacy activity center building for city residents, which is almost one hundred percent complete, except for the third and fourth floors. These two floors, said Ramza, cannot be completed because they still need a budget of Rp. 13 billion to complete.
His party is committed to lobbying the APBN through members of the Indonesian House of Representatives in Commission X in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Culture which oversees the National Library (NLI). Of course, also through representatives of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives from Aceh who sit on Commission X.
"We are trying to coordinate through friends in the DPR RI later so that the rest of the APBN budget is disbursed for the completion of the Library and Archives building in Banda Aceh," he said.
According to this Gerindra politician, the Banda Aceh Archives and Library building is very useful and needed to educate generations and city residents.
"We hope that there will be attention from all parties to complete the construction of this archive," he said.
Ramza said that the budget for completing the physical construction of this building was not possible from the Banda Aceh APBK because the budget portion was limited, considering that Banda Aceh's current financial condition was still focused on resolving last year's budget deficit.
"If there is direct assistance from the ministry, maybe we can try that too," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Banda Aceh City Library and Archives Service, Alimsyah Aiyub, said that with the visit of Commission I to his office, apart from being able to coordinate, they can also exchange information for the sake of the continuity of the development.
"Alhamdulillah, this building has begun to function, only the third and fourth floors have not been completed. God willing, the visit of Commission I will be a motivation for us, especially in taking advantage of the opportunities in the central government with the state budget, which has previously been felt as a result of the efforts of Commission X DPR RI," he said.
Alimsyah also said that Banda Aceh is a city that has reliable resources in the field of literacy. If these resources are strengthened by a great library building service, according to him, it is very supportive.
"We hope that the service of the citizens of Banda Aceh City can become an excellent service, especially in the field of archives, we just have to take advantage of other opportunities, which there are many more in the future," he said.
