Muswil KAHMI Momentum to Strengthen the Organization
BANDA ACEH – The holding of the Regional Conference (Muswil) VI of the Alumni Corps of the Islamic Student Association (KAHMI) is a momentum to strengthen the organization through the election of a new board.
This was conveyed by the Assistant for General Administration of the Aceh Secretary, Iskandar AP, while reading the remarks of the Governor of Aceh, at the Opening of the Regional VI KAHMI Aceh Deliberation, at the Amel Convention Hall, Sunday (23/9/2022) night. "On behalf of the Aceh Government, I wish you a happy deliberation to all the big family of KAHMI Aceh. Hopefully this deliberation process will run smoothly, and the existence of KAHMI can be further strengthened in Aceh, so that a strong and resilient organization is created, which is able to encourage better changes in our area, "said Iskandar.
Iskandar explained, in a stable and well-established organization, the cadre system always gets special attention, because cadre is a symbol of organizational development and sustainability.
Iskandar added that there is no single strong organization without a good cadre system. In terms of this cadre, it is undeniable that the Islamic Student Association (HMI) is one of the best. "It is proven that since its establishment in 1947, HMI has still been able to show its identity as a student organization that is always taken into account in this country. The loyalty of HMI members to their organization cannot be doubted. Even though they are no longer members of HMI, the alumni of HMI are still actively building togetherness in a forum called KAHMI," added Iskandar.
This, continued Iskandar, shows that every individual who has been active in HMI will never fade with time, never fade with age, and never fade by regime change.
Therefore, it is not surprising that KAHMI's movements and steps often get the attention of many parties, moreover its members are spread across various fields, and not a few have important and respectable positions in society, whose voices and opinions are taken into account by the people and the government.
"Being a member of KAHMI means having a strong and unique network of friendships. KAHMI is a place to share knowledge, from seniors to juniors, a melting pot of many potentials, which can create a healthy climate for the growth of the Indonesian nation in a better direction," said Iskandar.
Iskandar revealed that one of the members of KAHMI who significantly raised the world of Islamic scholarship in the eyes of the world was Prof. Azyumardi Azra. As is known, Professor Azyumardi Azra, is a child of the nation who received a knighthood from the United Kingdom of Great Britain because of his very valuable contribution to science.
"He just left us all. However, Sir Azyumardi Azra's passion for spreading knowledge is truly exemplary. In 2002, he received an award from Mizan Publishers, Bandung, as the Most Productive Writer. In 1999 alone, he launched six books of his writings, or an average of one book in two months," said Iskandar.
Prof. Azyumardi Azra is a great example for KAHMI members. Times may be more advanced, gadgets may be more sophisticated, but reading is still the most respected human intellectual activity.
Therefore, Iskandar hopes, as a member of an association of intellectuals, it is right that KAHMI members become the main motor of the movement to love to write and love to read books.
