The Acting Regent of North Aceh, Azwardi, AP, MSi, asked the management and members of the Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI) to contribute their thoughts to the community's economic empowerment programs.
Because, ICMI is an organization of scholars who are able to give birth to the concept of the benefit of the ummah, economic empowerment and the ideal order of life in society, where they help each other to achieve their goals.
This was conveyed by Acting Regent Azwardi, AP, MSi, in his remarks after the inauguration of the ICMI Orda Aceh Utara for the 2022-2027 period in the Regent's Office hall in Landing, Lhoksukon District, Thursday, November 3, 2022.
The activity was also attended by the Secretary of ICMI Orwil Aceh Prof. Dr dr Rajuddin, SpOG (K)-FER, Chairman of the ICMI Advisory Body Orda Aceh Utara, Chairman of the ICMI Expert Council, Chairman of the DPRK Aceh Utara Arafat Ali, SE, Chancellor of UNIKI Prof. Apridar, officials Forkopimda, the Regent's Expert Staff, the Assistants of the North Aceh Secretariat, the Heads of SKPK, and the Head of the Secretariat of the Secretariat, a number of scholars, leaders of Islamic organizations, and community leaders.
"All elements of society must collaborate in advancing North Aceh, which we love, today we met the right people," said Azwardi.
Furthermore, Azwardi on behalf of the North Aceh Regency Government congratulated and expressed his appreciation to the Chair and all elements of the ICMI Management who were appointed to be the captain of the organization in the 2022-2027 period.
"In ICMI's pledge, it is stated that they are ready to become intellectuals based on Islamic law, for that I invite you to serve this area because currently North Aceh is in dire need of intellectuals to build the welfare of the ummah," said Azwardi.
It is said that the golden age of North Aceh we used to feel together, but today it has run aground along with the passage of time. For that, let's increase the human resources that bring intellectual property to North Aceh.
Regarding the activities of oil and gas companies so far in North Aceh, hopefully the results are positive and can be explored again like the times in the 80s. "How should we prepare our children as future generations, lest when the oil and gas industry returns, our children are not even ready."
"We invite ICMI to produce a program on how to create a more advanced development of North Aceh."
Azwardi also explained the realities of his leadership, including health issues. At that time the percentage of children experiencing stunting reached 7.2 percent, but now it has been successfully reduced by 1 percent, so that currently North Aceh's stunting rate is only 6.2 percent.
"We continue to suppress the stunting rate, we must be really ready to build a golden generation without malnutrition, this is important for us to do, because without nutrition it will be in vain for us to leave this generation to appear to advance the region," said Azwardi.
The situation today, he continued, for children in urban areas is rather difficult to be invited to eat vegetables and nutritious local processed foods. They tend to be more interested in choosing instant food. "This is a problem at the family level, coupled with the issue of families getting married at an early age, after a year they are divorced, even though this woman's partner is pregnant, how will the baby who will be born be malnourished," he said.
“Well, this is where ICMI's role is needed to build the concept of family economy and the economy of the ummah in general. The district government is currently thinking about the economy after the pandemic and floods hit the Lhoksukon area. One solution is to empower and revive MSMEs, this is seen as important to boost the economy of the people in Bumi Pase."
Azwardi said, the North Aceh Regency Government continues to focus on improving and progressing MSMEs. One of them, now has obtained a patent for a batik product with the Pase motif. "We will soon promote this to the national level."
Inflation in this area also continues to be suppressed slowly, currently conducting a cheap market in dozens of sub-districts, so that the price of basic necessities can be suppressed in the city centers of sub-districts in North Aceh Regency.
Secretary of ICMI Orwil Aceh Prof Dr dr Rajuddin, SpOG(K) – FER, in his direction, among others, hoped that the ICMI Orda Aceh Utara 2022-2027 Management should be able to carry out ICMI's vision and mission in the future.
